American Roulette game is often called double-zero roulette, as it has a “0” slot and “00” slot. It’s considered to be a more difficult variant of roulette game, as the house edge is this variant is higher than in European Roulette for instance. The roulette payout scheme can be described by this formula: payout = (36 − n) / n. As I’ve already mentioned, the house edge in American roulette is twice higher than in European one. In European roulette the house edge is 2,7%.

Betting strategies in roulette is one of the main ways to win, as you have to follow a certain strategy to win. The main betting strategies are: the Martingale betting strategy (there are several variants of this strategy), “dopey experiment”, Labouchere System, D’Alembert System and many others, actually. Nowadays most professional players publish books in which they reveal the secrets of casino games and winnings. It’s debatable if we can predict a big win, but at least we can protect ourselves from big losses.

“Dopey experiment” was offered by Andrés Martinez (Los Angeles Times editor). In his book “las Vegas” he suggested to divide the roulette session bankroll in 35 units. The unit is a bet on a certain number for 35 spins. As any other theory, this one has some drawbacks. The main one if that the probability of winning within 35 spins is only about 60%. This is rather high for roulette, but at the same time you have a 40% chance to win every time you follow this roulette strategy.
