Smaller study groups allow people the opportunity to have more intimate discussions about the bible or books they are studying. They also create lasting friendships and support systems as participants get to know one another.

Experiencing Episcopal Life: Weekly Small Groups
Become a companion in Christ. Small groups of 8 or less are forming this fall to experience all facets of Episcopal life through the use of “Companions in Christ.” This series of resources offers small groups a powerfully transforming experience in spiritual formation and the opportunity to explore classic spiritual practices. Participants are invited to develop daily patterns that open their lives to a deepening relationship with God and one another. The weekly meeting times and locations will be determined at the discretion of each group. To learn more, contact Ginny Strubing.
Men's Bible Study: Thursday Mornings
An informal, small group approach to bible study, the Thursday morning Men's Bible Study is lay lead and reads and discusses the Gospel lesson for the upcoming Sunday. Greater emphasis is placed upon sharing ways that the bible passages can make sense for our daily lives. All men are welcome to attend this bible study on Thursdays, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., at La Baguette on Poplar.
Women's Bible Study: Thursday Afternoons
On Thursdays during the Healing Service Lunch (12:15-1:15 p.m.), women of all ages and stages of life gather in the Luke Room to discuss the Gospel reading for the upcoming Sunday. Participants say that they have a more powerful worship experience on Sundays if they study ahead of time. The group takes 15 minutes to settle and visit, then studies from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. The last 15 minutes are spent wrapping up the study and saying good-byes. This allows women with busy schedules to eat, study, and travel to and from work or home within an hour. Participants often use "The Bible Workbench," which explores various themes and patterns in the biblical story, while trying to answer what is happening in the text, how the story or text is happening around us, and how this story is our story.
