Family Sanctuary: Parenting Issues Discussion Group
with Ron McDonald
EMISON ROOM
Have you ever considered locking your significant other, children, or self away? Do you often think that everyone but you “seems” to have it all together? Would it help to talk to a group of fellow parishioners, share stories, and find out how others are coping with the stresses of modern life? If so, then this class may be for you.
Back by popular demand, this class builds on the experiences of those who attended the winter Wednesday night class “Family Sanctuary” with Ron McDonald in January-February, and the Sunday morning discussion classes led by the clergy in February and March. Any parents (or prospective parents) who might benefit from the discussions are welcome to attend.
Grief Support Group
CALVARY LIBRARY
Calvary’s spring Grief Support Group starts on Wednesday, April 2. The group will meet each Wednesday night, from 6:30-8:00, through May 7 in the Library at Calvary Church. It offers a confidential and supportive oasis for anyone who has lost a spouse, parent or other loved one. Participants should be prepared to attend the entire series. Please call if you have any questions. Also, we must know you are coming. Click here to learn more and to register with Nicky Hitching.
MONTGOMERY FOYER
Education for Ministry is a four-year intensive learning experience for adults. In a seminar setting, up to eleven people study the Bible, church history, theology, and contemporary church issues. Learning to think theologically is also a core component of the program. EFM was created at the University of the South, and its curriculum is a distillation of that which is used in the Seminary at the University. Participants learn the theological disciplines as well as the application of this knowledge in their lives. Each year's group may include students from more than one year of the program. Students are asked to commit to one year at a time. Enrollment takes place during the summer, before the group begins its fall session. For more information about EFM, please contact Martin Jellinek.
